10 Months

Have you ever noticed that the older you get, the faster the years fly by? Seems like every year the year is shorter. Especially since Shania has been born it seems like I can’t keep up with her growing spurts! A few weeks ago she turned 10 months old and so I decided to share some of my favorite photos of her with you.

10 month CollageThese were taken on the day she turned 10 months old! The puppy kept being a distraction so we finally just included her in the picture. She loves her Daddy so much. Her baby doll is her favorite toy and if we tell her to put her baby to sleep she will sit there hugging the baby and rocking back and forth. Its so adorable!

Baby chicksGrandma Hostetler got baby chicks so one day we went to see them. This was Shanias first experience with live chicks and it caused quite a few laughs. She just wanted to squeeze the poor things and was so enthralled by them 🙂

10 month Shania CollageAunt Julia got the camera and Shania and went for a photo shoot 🙂 I love having a photograghery (is that even a word?!) sister 🙂 Makes that I get alot of pictures and get reminded to take alot.

Shania collageThese were snapped while she was waiting on Julia and I to be done with taking some pictures! She loves anything that moves and so the kitty picture was just too perfect. Everything goes into her mouth now too so ya gotta stay on your toes for that! Even got a lil heartbroken picture! 🙂 Her favorite thing right now is clapping and getting all excited when she gets praised for something. Got to love how praise makes a little child (and even adults) just glow.

So there’s my baby… 🙂 She’s almost 1 already Surprised

Pool Parties

This hot summer weather makes for some great times in our beautiful pool! Shania likes it pretty good and we had fun having her cousins here and swimming and ‘taking pictures in the water’!! Trust me it was with utmost care that the camera was taken in the water! 🙂

And Amy, the lil fish 🙂 It took a while for her to get brave enough to go under water, now she’s under about as much as above water! BTW swimming in the pool has been her ‘dream’ 🙂

Her first time having watermelon!! She got a grip on that thing! 🙂

Like how clean and clear our water is?? Here are some of the products we use to keep it that way!

Fun with Aunt Deb

Life has been busy busy around here and we are getting ready for Owens sisters wedding this weekend! Deb is getting married to AJ Yoder and will then be moving to Ohio 🙁 We will especially miss her after having had her live in our upstairs for the past 6 months! Shania recognizes her and just loves when Aunt Deb spends time holding her and playing with her.

Cookie Exchange

Since these long dreary winter days have been getting to me I decided to have a cookie exchange the other week with some of my friends. It was a good excuse for us to get together to visit and catch up on each others lives plus try new cookies 🙂 I had each of them bring 3 dozen cookies then we split them up amongst each other 🙂

Cookie ExchangeAs you can see we had alot of delicious cookies 🙂 Definitely not good for the diet… :/ And we also enjoyed alot of time just talking and catching up… and eating some snacks I had prepared…

snacksVegetable Pinwheels, Pickle-Cheese-Ham rollups, coffee, and Hot Chocolate, by the time the pictures got taken the marshmallows had melted on the Hot Chocolate so it didn’t look very appetizing anymore but it was better then it looks 🙂

Thanks ladies for all your contribution, it sure made my day and week shorter! Its such a blessing to have friends and ‘sisters’ to spend time with that are an encouragement to me!

Oh and my sister Julia took the pictures so thats why they’re so good!

Be blessed

*** check back later for the recipe on the Cupcakes, they’re Pumpkin with Creme Cheese filling in the center. My hubby thot they were delicious 🙂

My baby is growing…

Well my baby is almost not a ‘baby’ anymore :/ It just hit me this morning that she is soo big and growing so very fast its crazy! She absolutely loves when her Daddy and I sit around her while she is playing and talk to her and spoil her! Here she is ‘rockin’ her new Bumbo seat 🙂 She gets tired in it pretty fast but I think she will really like it.

Christmas 2012 Memories

For Christmas we went to Brookfield to spend time with my family. It was soo good to all be together again and we made lots of good memories! I am posting some pictures of things that we did while we were there!

PicMonkey Collage2

Shania chilling with Aunt Julia and Uncle Dan on the long ride out there! She was a REALLY good traveler and slept most of the way tho!

PicMonkey CollagePicMonkey Collage1

The first two are Raelen and Kaecen Brown. Middle is Krysta and Kendra Myers and bottom is Malorie and Lauren Black. They were all quite excited to see Shania and had to take turns holding her! They were quite the babysitters 🙂 My Mom babysits for them so they are like a part of our family.

Christmas 098

This is a special picture to me, it’s my oldest niece holding Shania. She was the first niece for us so she was always extra spoiled.

Christmas 053Shania was often surrounded with adorers 🙂

PicMonkey Collage3The men helped Dad cut and stack wood on Monday. It was really cold outside but they toughed it out. Devon is in the skidloader, he’s the one that had a liver transplant the beginning of October. He’s not allowed to do much physical labor yet but he sure gets out and does what he can!

And how could you not be in love with such a beautiful smile as this! This was her outfit for Christmas… I’m so in love with her!

PicMonkey Collage4This is just a lil bit of all the fattening, delicious  food we had there to eat. They’re Mocha Truffles and I’m not sure what the name is of the mice but they were both amazing!

Thats the Miller Family gathering, where theres always lots of noise, people, and food lol.

Following is some Memories from the Hostetler gathering…

Christmas 202I just love this picture… He is so cute and mischievous and to watch him eat popcorn is so sweet, he daintily picks up one piece at a time and puts it in his mouth 🙂

PicMonkey Collage6Here they’re getting ready for a balloon race! Its was hilarious and i just have to laugh every time I watch the video I took of it 🙂 O and Dale is ‘wishing’ he was a football player I think lol.

New Years *2013*

teen-talk-new-year-resolutions

Wow we are now in the New Year and this year I kinda got the feeling of having a brand new sheet to start with and its up to me how it turns out, will it be beautiful and full of ‘God’s fingerprints’ or will there be all kinds of ‘blots and stains’ of myself and my desires/wants?!

This past year has been full of changes for us and especially been a challenging year of finding my ‘niche’ (a place or position suitable or appropriate for a person or thing) in life! I went from working away from home part time, to working from home part time, to totally quitting my job and being a Stay at home Mom. Talk about changes and challenges 🙂 but they have been good and God is so faithful and doesn’t give me more then I can bear!

Since moving to Tennessee we have been actively involved in getting our lil group grounded in God and what we want to stand for as a church. It is a challenge and has been a struggle for me at times but today I can truly say that I am excited for what the New Year holds and look forward to see where God will take us this year! The responsibility has especially been impressed on my mind more fully with having Shania. It makes ya stop and think about everything you do and believe in, how will I explain it to her once she is old enough to ask questions?!

I am not one to make alot of New Years Resolutions but this year I have a few things I want to focus on.

  •   One big thing is having my Personal alone time/devotions with God. I have really been struggling with taking the time to read God’s word and actually think about what I am reading so recently I saw on a blog where they had a support group/accountability for this very thing so I joined.  You can check it out at http://www.w2wministries.org/p/morning-reflections.html#.UOZloIU8fmw.facebook This has helped me to think about what I am reading and is also so encouraging to see what other people are reading and learning!

  • I also want to focus on being a more positive person. Recently I heard it explained something like this; Whatever we think or do is either from God or the devil, there is no middle ground. So the challenge is to ask myself the question, WHO SAID IT?! Was it God or the devil?!! It really puts it in perspective and makes me think seriously about it!
  • The words we speak over ourselves or others are either a blessing or a curse on them/us. There is a spiritual battle going on in our life, if we say something positive the angels hear it and act upon it, if we say something negative the demons hear it and act upon it! I think we have no idea how much power there is in the tongue.  ‘Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.’ Proverbs 18:21
  • I want to spend quality time with my family and be able to teach Shania the important things of life. I know this year especially is the year that she will be learning so many things and it is up to us as her parents to plant the seeds at a young age!

Wow well it looks to me like I have a HUGE responsibility in the year ahead!! Pray for me!
